February 25 = DC Day

First- here's a TimeHop picture from 4 years ago...

And here's some pictures from today.  Check out the attitude:

We had our Saturday Chick-fil-a breakfast this morning...

And went to the gym and then a respite care provider came over and watched the kids so Zachary and I could get away for a little bit.  We had planned on going to Mount Vernon but they closed early today for some reason so we adjusted and went to the Holocaust Museum instead.  I've been wanting to go forever and so everything worked out for today.  I always have to take a picture of the Washington Monument when I see it...

At the museum, you get a card with the information of someone who experienced the Holocaust.  As you progress through each floor, you read another page and get information on how your person fared during each stage.  Mine died in the gas chamber... but before she died she knew both of her children were safe.

And then we went to our favorite restaurant in DC- City Lights of China.  Yummm.  We had some real serious conversations over dinner about how something so insane could actually happen.  It wasn't the most fun date ever but we were together and got to learn and go to talk!  Without interruption!
