March 1 = Cool Girl Day

No words necessary.

February 27 = New Bed Day

Well Liam has been getting out of his crib.  The first time was not great- he did not land very gracefully and let us know.  The next time we heard a little bit of a thud and then he started knocking on his door- didn't hurt himself- just wanted out.  Then there have been a couple of times when I've put him to bed that before I can get to the door he's got his leg propped up on the front of the crib.  Today we asked him to show us how he gets out and he got 95% of the way out before we grabbed him and put him down softly.  So we decided it was time to move on to a toddler bed.  Here it is:

My bet is that no on gets any sleep tonight...

February 26 = New Game Day

Well Malia has a new game.  She's always liked her pacifiers and we are very grateful for that.  However, as if it is not hard enough to locate one paci, her new preference is to have two.  She likes to have one in her mouth and one in her hand.  Then she'll take the one out of her mouth and replace it with the one in her hand.  This can go on for a while which is fun to watching and it entertains her and keeps her happy but finding two pacifiers can be quite a task.

February 22 = Attempt to be Creative Day

I got a sewing machine a few months back and was super motivated.  I was going to learn to sew baby headbands and dresses and pillows and... I had a lot of dreams.  Then the machine came and it took me a few days to open it.  And then it took me a lot of concentration and watching the instructional DVD a million times to thread it and then I attempted to follow directions from someone on Pinterest and... it didn't go so well.  So my mother-in-law has some sewing experience- she's made beautiful quilts for Liam and Malia so she offered to help me figure out a few things.  I showed her the directions for this adorable headband I wanted to make for Malia and she understood the language this lady was writing in so we went to AC Moore and got the fabric and some needles and some pins... and I tried but she ended up doing 95% of the work.  After all was said and done though we got this:

Which was the desired outcome so it's all good!  I thought I had the hang of simple sewing but then after she left, my reverse stitching started going forward and my regular sewing started going backwards.  So it's probably just me but I'm probably going to wait until Grandma and Pop's next visit to break out the machine again.

February 21 = Happy Birthday Pops!

Not a lot can top watching Lebron James play in person but we went to Chevy's for a birthday dinner for Pops on his actual birthday.  I had left Malia's bag in the car with her bottle so Zachary went to get it and conveniently used that exit to tell the waiter we were celebrating a birthday at our table.  Mo went later to tell them the same thing but as she went to tell them, they were coming to the table so she missed the singing.

Here's Pops sharing his dessert with little Liam.

And then we all had a yummier dessert at home and we all got to be there for the singing of Happy Birthday this time.  Liam even helped blow out the candles!

February 20 = Cleveland Cavaliers Day

We were excited to have Grandma and Pops come up to see us this weekend.  Pops' birthday is tomorrow so Zachary had done some researching and planning a couple of weeks ago trying to create a special weekend to celebrate.  The Cavaliers just happened to being playing in DC so Mo and Zachary coordinated and made sure they could definitely come and got tickets.  I snapped a picture of him receiving his present!

So they headed off to DC- had dinner and then watched the game.  Meanwhile, Malia has had an awful diaper rash for the past few days and the doctor recommended diaper free time.  It sounds simple but it is quite a nightmare.  I put down several towels and had to change them out about every 5 minutes.  I had a lot of laundry throughout the duration of this rash.  But she is just so cute.

After I determined we'd had enough of that, we got in some PJ's and kept Liam company while he ate his dinner.  Malia fell asleep in her high chair.

I got some pictures from Zachary from the game too:

February 19 = Hold Your Own Bottle Day

Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!  Malia learned to hold her own bottle today.  I have no pictures of this but this is such an exciting development that it deserves its own post anyway!  Yay Malia!
