We were going to go to NC for my mom's 50th birthday but they were both sick so we stayed at home- we're trying again for my dad's birthday!
I hate traveling. I hate packing, I hate riding, I hate having the car perfectly packed and uncluttered at the beginning of the trip and then realizing there's not enough space for my feet one hour later. I hate pumping in the car, I hate traffic. I hate finding a perfectly good radio station that turns to static five minutes later. But I love seeing family. I love spending time with our parents and I love watching my kids spend time with their grandparents. It's absolutely, one hundred percent worth it but man. This was Liam's Valentine's Day present that was temporarily lost in the toy box that I resurrected specifically for this trip. Good move, Mom.

September 11 = Color on the Wall Day
I have to pump every 3 hours. On Thursdays, Zachary is gone from around 10am to 10pm so there are several times I have to pump while he's gone. I have tried putting Malia on the bed next to me and letting Liam play around in the room with me but trying to keep him off of Malia while hooked up to a machine that doesn't produce the most comfortable sensations is quite a difficult task so I quickly decided he should be safely shut in his room with lots of toys to play with during these times. Well... this time, the latch didn't come out of the door and so it didn't latch shut and he pushed it open, found a crayon and the pictures above are the result.

August 15 = Re-visit old toy day
One of the main challenges I'm facing when home alone with two under two is during times when I have to pump. I can put Malia on the bed and feed her or help her with her pacifier but having Liam up on the bed too doesn't ever work- I can't be available enough to feel Malia is safe and even if I did, the likelihood of him staying on the bed is slim to none so I'd have to disconnect from the pump and go make sure he was safe himself. So I pump when Liam is napping but having to pump every 3 hours at least, sometimes I have to leave him in his high chair or in his room with some toys. In this picture, I had left him in his room with his toys but came in to see him doing this:
I had this out for Malia when we were all three in Liam's room. When this was Liam's toy, he had no interest in it all. Better late than never?
