So while packing for NC/FL, I forgot one of the most important things: Gigi. This is the face of a happy boy who has been reunited with the love of his life.

November 5 = Personal Day
Have you seen those commercials where the parent walks into the kid's room and says "I'm sorry, I'm going to have to take a sick day." And then it says parents don't get to take sick days so take DayQuil or whatever medication it is. Well today, folks, I took a personal day and it was glorious. Zachary left early to go to the football game and I woke up around 8 and headed to the zoo. I just walked around the zoo for about three hours. I saw every single exhibit there was to see. Here are some pictures I took:
I love turtles.
Casually sitting on a snake...
How I feel when I'm pregnant:
Turtle!
I stood and watched this Jaguar for several minutes. He paced back and forth right in front of me about 20 times and then laid down and took a nap. He may be my spirit animal.
I always forget what it's called but this may be my favorite animal to see at the zoo besides the otters and the turtles. I had to look it up but it's a capybara and I love it.
Also, this bird was just walking around and I sort of wished the kids were there because they would have been so excited. But then I remembered my quiet car ride and my full night's rest and the fact that I was leisurely walking around looking at whatever I wanted for however long I wanted and that wish evaporated. Love them dearly.
The gorilla was using the fence to scratch his back:
Lion, out.
Turtle!
When I was pregnant with Liam and on our anniversary trip to DC, Zachary and I went to the Smithsonian zoo and bought Liam a stuffed hippo. Then, when I was pregnant with Malia, we took a trip- our last outing as a family of three- to the Baltimore Aquarium and we got Malia a stuffed dolphin. So keeping with that tradition, I picked this out for our littlest one:
I got back in the car around 11:30 and realized it was lunch time and I could go wherever I wanted. So I went to Jason's deli and got this mammoth baked potato:
Also, here's a picture someone got of Zachary and his BattO at the game:

November 4 = Travel to Jacksonville Day
Today involved a lot of riding in the car. A quiet ride in the car. Where we talked about parenting strategies and baby names and memories we made in Jacksonville when we lived there for four years.
We were able to go to dinner and when we got back, Zachary had a meeting but while I was sitting in the room reading, I heard a boom and was treated to an awesome fireworks show right outside our window. I saw on the balcony and enjoyed the show!

November 3 = On the Road Day
We are heading south first to North Carolina to drop the kids off with my parents, and then even farther south, to Jacksonville, FL because Zachary is on the task force for the Navy vs. Notre Dame game at the Jaguars' stadium. I'm coming along for the ride :) We saw this on the ride and thought it was cool:
I love this:

November 2 = Appointment Day
First I saw this and related very well to it so:
Also, I know many people are torn on who to vote for but this is the best reason to vote for either candidate that I've seen... "A mother just does it."
Also, while I was upstairs for less than three minutes, Liam started cooking. This is pepper in a pot on the (off) stove:
I love Malia's wardrobe choice here:
Also, here's sideways baby!

November 1 = First Bump Picture
Okay so we found out I was pregnant on October 5th. Meaning today I am just over 7 weeks. Most people at seven weeks do not have a bump. But then again, this is my fourth pregnancy if you count the recent miscarriage which did bump out. So my body's been here four times before and it just knows to pop on out there. I have a concerned look on my face because I was going to MOPS and nowhere close to announcement time but it's kind of obvious... or maybe I just ate too much Halloween candy last night.
This is how I left the cats in the morning, and this is how I found them when I got home:
Also, Malia wasn't cool with her costume last night but she's all about it today.

October 31 = Halloween
I've firmly decided I'm not a fan of Halloween. I love the costumes but my kids don't so much. And they don't get trick or treating. But we participated and here is the photographic evidence:
