October 31 = Halloween

Halloween and MRI Day!  Liam and I went to get his MRI done today- the person ahead of him had some extra tests added so they were running way behind.  Thankfully, they had a red car- what could Liam love more??- and such a nice nurse who walked up and down the halls with him while I took care of Kayleigh- Malia was at the CDC thank goodness!

While we were waiting for his MRI to be done, I was looking at Kayleigh and could remember Malia wearing the same shirt so I did some facebook looking and found this-

and then wondered if Liam looked anymore like Kayleigh so I found his 5 month picture since Kayleigh will be 5 months old in a few days!

Before too long it was time to go sit with Liam until he woke up from sedation- they gave him a snack when he woke up and he promptly spilled it all over the bed:

Everyone was so nice though!  They gave him that snoopy and he had talked a lot about his sisters so they gave him this bracelet to give to Malia:

and even Kayleigh got a toy!

Later, it was time for some Halloween fun!  This year, we were all superheroes.  Liam was Batman and Malia was Robin... appropriate since they are such a little team.

and Kayleigh was the flash...

Here's Liam enjoying some of their spoils:

January 18 = Halloween Throwback Day

Malia decided she needed to wear her Halloween costume all day today:

Also, I saw this and smiled because of my little Liam.

And I just have to note that Liam has a new name for Malia.  His first name for her was lalalalalalala and then it turned into just Lala and then lately it's been sister but we have a new one now: Balita.  He has been able to say Malia in the past but for some reason, it has changed.  I'm torn between correcting him and just letting the nickname stick... let's be real, I'm going to let it stick.

December 8 = Yearbook Day

First here's a picture of Malia in her comfy state:

And here's a picture of us in the Naval Academy yearbook- they came out today... this is from last Halloween when we went trick-or-treating in Bancroft Hall.

October 31 = Halloween

I've firmly decided I'm not a fan of Halloween.  I love the costumes but my kids don't so much.  And they don't get trick or treating.  But we participated and here is the photographic evidence:

October 8 = Relax Day

We slept in, did a little shopping and got to watch a movie today- we saw The Girl on the Train- a book that I've read.  Oh and we ate at restaurants.  Like three times.  My favorite kind of movie is one adapted from a book I've read so I was really exciting.  Here's one of our purchases from today- Liam and Malia's Halloween costumes!

October 31 = Halloween

We had a fun Halloween!  We went to the gym and had our normal naps but around 5:30 we started preparing for some real trick or treating!  This little duck and Mr. Snoopy didn't look too thrilled but once we got outside they loved it.

One thing I noticed was most parents had drinks in their hands and I think alcohol was involved.  Liam did a good job of saying his version of trick or treat and Malia thought it was neat that she could just walk up to people and take things out of a box or bucket they extended her way.  We took the double stroller and the kids took turns sitting in it and walking and riding on daddy's shoulders.  We didn't last very long because it got dark really quickly but when we got back, we kept the kids in the stroller and gave them some of their candy while we handed out candy to other trick or treaters.  Then, we left the bucket outside and got ready for bed.  Liam still wasn't totally understanding the concept so I think next year will be even more fun!

October 16 = Grammy & Gramps Day

Zachary has duty tomorrow so my parents came in because number 1- they miss their babies and 2- I could use their help!  They left around 8am so they got in around 2pm and brought lots of Halloween goodies- the cutest little buckets and lots of candy and games.  But first- we had to get our day started.  Malia woke up with her care bear close.

Malia loves getting in this chair by herself- look at that face.

Solar powered pumpkin and Frankenstein- Malia loved loved loved watching them bobble around.

I can't remember if I mentioned that last week when preparing for the midshipmen dinner at our house, I attempted to make cupcakes.  I knew I was doubling the recipe so when I saw I needed a cup of water, I doubled it.  I need two cups.  Then I forgot I had already doubled it and decided I needed four cups of water.  Four cups of water with two boxes of cake mix is not a good thing.  I poured that down the sink and Zachary ran to Graul's and picked up some cookies.  But I really, really wanted cupcakes.  And still did the next day, and the next and the next.  So I decided to finally make some today since I had some people to share them with.  Liam decided he'd be the first person to share the cupcakes with me and sneakily grabbed one when no one was looking.

October 31 = Halloween!

Today is Halloween! We spent most of the day traveling to Graham to see my family- traffic was terrible so our planned five hour trip took over seven hours.  Instead of going home first, we went straight to La Cocina and then we trick or treated at the Malinskis' house.  We may not have had the full Halloween experience but these pictures and Liam being able to spend time with the Malinskis and them getting to meet Malia made it all worth it!

October 29 = Preschool Halloween Party Day

Liam's school had a Halloween party today- they all wore orange and black and had yummy snacks.

October 9 = Craft Day

I love pinterest.  I love looking at pretty things, reading good quotes and being bombarded with more good ideas than I would ever be able to implement.  A few of these good ideas were Halloween crafts using the babies' footprints.  I thought Malia would be easy going about it and Liam would give me a hard time- I was wrong.

Malia was not so thrilled but I decided to make painting Liam's foot a tickling game and he went right along with it.

Here are the final products:

October 6 = Jar day

How adorable is this craft Liam made?!

Also, these are the flowers he got Malia to make her feel better. They ended up making us all happier :)
