First, here's a picture of Malia helping to clean up- she's so sweet.
And then... we went to the playground across the street today and Zachary found this praying mantis. He brought it home to take pictures of it (we had left our phones at home).
Then he came back to help me get the kids home... via bike.
Also, here's my little momma Malia loving on her Minnie...
and here's a video of lunch on a typical day in the Holliday house:
First, I have to share this. Need a tip for painting your nails while being a mom? Just don't.
I got ambitious during nap today. This is what our garage looks like. It is the place where we put things when we probably won't need them in the near future.
Not done but feeling a lot better about it.
Also, Malia had her second soccer "practice" today. Here's some pictures from Zachary:
This was our first Thanksgiving not with one of our families. We definitely missed everyone but it was nice not to have to travel. Grace posted this picture of her and Matt and I just have to share because how gorgeous are they??
I love this picture of Daisy... she has a hernia as you can see but I just love this because she looks like a grumpy old man.
I think Daisy and Malia are going to be best friends... here's a morning cat nap...
...and then an afternoon one.
So I have a little bit of regret regarding this Thanksgiving. I spent a lot of the day cleaning because Zachary was home and was doing such a good job of entertaining the kids and the dog. I started the day off by trying to watch some of the Macy's parade but Liam really wanted to watch Mickey Mouse so that was shot. We just got our new washer so I was catching up on laundry and just putting stuff away that had piled up in places where said stuff didn't belong. But Zachary cooked everything for dinner- this was our first turkey and it was perfect. He made the best mashed potatoes I've ever tasted. We had macaroni and cheese as well as sweet potatoes. It was delicious and the kids agreed. I just wish I would have done a craft with the kids or done some more reflection or something- the day just kind of passed. But there's always next year.
Zachary and Liam both had Captain America shirts on today. We tried to get a picture to show that but Liam was too busy popping his finger in his mouth to let us get a good picture so you'll just have to trust me :)
Malia helped Daddy do some work today.
And when the work was done, it was time to play- Liam had too much fun hitching a ride from Daddy.
Malia wanted in on the action too.
I wrote the other day about how I thrive when I exercise. I also thrive
when I have a clean house. Cleaning a house and two mobile, curious
children do not coexist so sometimes, Zachary takes the kids to the gym
and I stay behind to clean. When we cleaned the garage out last week, I found this canvas we had made into a chalkboard. So I washed it off and hung it on the wall- it makes me happy!
While I was cleaning and alone in the house, it started storming. The wind was crazy and it was thundering and lightening- it was awful. The power kept going in and out. And then it stopped as quickly as it started. Zachary and the kids got home at the end of the storm- we put them to bed and then he had me walk to the end of the road to see this tree that had been uprooted. This first picture doesn't do the beautiful yellow sky justice but I'll share anyway.
I grabbed some all purpose cleaner to attack the bathrooms- my favorite chore of the week... not. And I forgot to put the child lock back on the cabinet. This is the one cabinet it's not great for Liam to get into. I came back from scrubbing two bathrooms and this is what I find. That is a container of dish detergent packets. He nearly gave me a heart attack.
July 3rd also = all the guys (Zachary, Liam and Joey) relax day. Liam also invited his giraffe, Gigi, to the party.
