October 20 = Proud Brother Day

Oh my goodness- this picture.  Can you just see the pride he has in being a big brother on his face?  He loves her so, so much.

That picture was taken while we were waiting for his therapy appointments- he drew this picture on the board during OT.  Not sure what it is but I like it anyway.

Kayleigh has to get bloodwork done to make sure her phenobarbital level is good- I took her to the clinic today to get it done... they told me after they unsuccessfully tried twice that they don't have needles small enough for young babies, that we should take her to the hospital.  How I wish they would have told me that before they stuck her.  Here's my little monkey waiting to take her back...

And here's Miss Kayleigh, not bothered by any of it.

I got a new game for the kids- Hungry Hungry Hippo- I'm hoping it will promote turn taking... we shall see ;)

And we can't leave Rosie out of the post for today, can we?

July 28 = Sibling Love Day

Liam was helping Daddy tie his shoes... and very proud of himself!

Typical setup in the Holliday household:

I love that everyone wants to be close to each other!

Liam asked to hold Kayleigh... he is such a sweet big brother to her!

November 7 = Best Big Brother Day

Liam has been a funny little bear this morning.  He woke up at his normal time as I was in the middle of getting packed for going out of town this weekend.  We are going to meet Grammy and Uncle Matt (J) in Rocky Mount to give Liam to them for the weekend and then leaving from there to go to the Outer Banks where Zachary will run his second marathon in 3 weekends.  So I went in to change him and get him ready for the day but he was contently sitting in his crib.  I asked him if he wanted a new diaper and he simply shook his head, "no."  So I brought the clean, dry laundry in his room and folded as he played with his stuffed animals.  After I finished Malia's clothes, I checked with him again.  Still not ready.  I checked after I folded and put away his clothes.  Still not ready.  I put a few things in the car and when I came back in he was fussing a bit- I guess he was ready.  As I was changing him, Malia woke up and started fussing a bit in our bedroom.  As always, I commented "Uh-oh, sister's mad."  I went on to say "We love sister don't we?"  I regretted asking this as soon as the words left my lips because his favorite thing to do is say no to everything but he surprised me when he didn't say no!  He must really love her!  So I said, "You're going to be such a good big brother to Miss Malia."  Still no shaking of the head from Liam.  Then I said, "You'll protect her..." No shaking of the head.  "And when she gets her first boyfriend..." I couldn't finish the sentence before he started shaking his head quite adamantly.  He's going to be the best big brother!

September 3- Football Outfit Day

Before Malia was born, I went through Liam's old clothes and picked out things I thought I could get away with putting on Malia.  I knew she would be provided with plenty of clothes so it wasn't to make sure she had enough- it was for memory's sake.  This is one of those outfits that I can vividly remember Liam wearing- it's awesome that Liam's and Malia's birthdays are so close- Christmas clothes that fit Liam will probably fit Malia when Christmas comes around and in this case, football clothes that Liam wore can be reused for Malia :)

July 20 = Sibling Love Day

Now that we were settling in at home, it was time to see how Liam would embrace his little sister.  Here's what went down:

Also here's a picture of her feet.  Baby feet are the best.
