September 15 = New Calendar Day

So the application was not easy but we put this up today:

The idea is, since it's right next to our front door, we won't forget as much.  I am forgetting stuff all. the. time.  So maybe this will help. Probably not but the effort was there.

Malia is really into these cushion forts:

I had sent the picture of Malia to my dad because he loves getting pictures of the kids during the day.  He asked what was Liam was up to since I hadn't sent a picture of him.  So the bus was supposed to come this morning.  It's a normal school bus except it has harnesses just like in car seats on the bus seats.  So we sat outside this morning waiting for the bus.  It never came.  So I drove him to school.  I asked the teacher if I should pick him up or if the bus would definitely come to the house.  "It'll definitely come to the house."  Cool.  Just kidding.  I sat on the front porch for 20 minutes and then got a call from the bus company that the bus had come and waited as long as it could but since I wasn't there, I needed to go to the school to pick him up.  So I tell her I've been sitting on my front porch for 20 minutes, there's no way it came.  So she calls the bus driver and we find out that the bus stop is not in front of our house but at the end of the street.  No one decided to inform me of this before he started riding the bus.  So I went to the school to pick him up.  I had been texting my family about my frustration with the bus situation and so I sent them this picture to show that I had him and he was safely in the car.

September 13 = Soccer Shots Day

We had a really busy day today!  First we took Liam to the bus stop and then we went to the MOPS Registration Playdate.  Malia wanted to dress for the occasion:

Other moms (not this one because it takes all I have to get us fed, dressed, and out the door) brought extra riding toys so the kids with moms like me could have something to play with.  Malia took advantage:

Later, it was time for Malia's first soccer shots... I don't even know what to call it... practice?  gathering?  I don't know.

Here's a video of Malia participating fully in the... gathering.  I'm going with gathering.

And hugs for her friend, Evie:

Liam was not a fan of watching from the sidelines so he and Zachary found some other trouble to get into:

Coach Casey did her job:

June 1 = Yogurt Day

The kids ate yogurt for breakfast by themselves this morning- they love it so much!

We have had to really think hard about how to arrange Liam's room because this boy will not sleep at night.  While I was in NC a couple weekends ago, Zachary was rearranging the house and the desk broke while he was trying to move it.  So we put part of it in Liam's room to organize some of his toys.  Well we decided to move everything out of his room so his room is only for sleeping and when I went to move the desk part in his room I discovered he's been getting in the drawer...

After I moved some stuff around I took them out in our backyard to try to wear them out- trying everything I can to get him to sleep!

This picture reminds me so much of another picture that I'll put below it:

Oh and by the way- Dominos sells a Smores Cookie.  It's delicious.

Night one of no toys and lots of outside time was successful!

April 13 = More Trouble Day

While Liam is getting himself into trouble:

Malia is feeding herself solids!  She fed herself several pieces of green beans today.  We grilled out tonight because the weather was so nice- so I strapped her in the ErgoBaby carrier not knowing what to expect but she loved it and we really enjoyed breathing fresh air tonight!

April 11 = Baby Shower Day

We had a baby shower for our friends, Brandon & Jessie Bergersen today!  It was at our apartment which is (thankfully) almost empty in preparation for this move.  But here are some of the decorations:

And I've written about Liam's escapades- we caught him in the act tonight:

And promptly rearranged his room.

April 10 = Liam is a Mess Day

I was putting stuff away in the kitchen this morning and accidentally hit this magnetic cup on the side of our refrigerator that holds all my dry erase markers and some pens and pencils.  I said "uh-oh" and Liam came right in, sat down, and proceeded to pick up every singly marker and put it back in the cup.  And when he was done, he just walked off.  He didn't expect any thanks- he just helped out and went back to whatever he was doing.

Later, he laid down for a nap.  About an hour later, Zachary and I were talking in our room and we hear music.  I assume I had paused the tv and it started playing because it had been paused for a certain amount of time or something so I walk towards the living room and passed the noise.  It was coming from Liam's room.  I opened the door and found this:

He stood on his bed to stand on the window sill to get on the dresser and then turned his radio on.  Lord have mercy on us.

And later, he got in a box!

April 8 = Problem Solving Day

First a picture of Liam really enjoying his dinner.

And then a picture showing what my life consists of at the moment: keeping Liam from hurting himself.  He has figured out that if he moves his little chair he can step on it to get to what he wants or if what he wants is still out of reach from him standing on the chair, he can step on the chair to step on whatever else he can reach.  While this is a bit stressful, it does show that his problem solving skills are developing.
