August 31 = FIrst Day of School

Liam started school today!  Look how cute my little Pre-K student is!

Kayleigh's pretty excited for some less divided attention...

And Liam is really excited to ride the bus!

The bus was supposed to come at 12:10 but it didn't so I called the school.  The receptionist told me, quite condescendingly, that it must be running a little late.  I waited five more minutes, called back, and asked for the number to the bus company.   Sure enough, even though they called the day before to remind me to be out there waiting for the bus at 12:10, they "didn't realize it was 12:10" and so they sent a bus immediately...

The house was pretty quiet while Liam was gone.  Malia took a nap- she was still kind of tired when we went outside to wait for the bus.  Here she is lying about how she didn't miss her brother:

Her tune changed real quick when he got home- here she is running after him as he ran inside to get a popsicle... He asked for a popsicle this morning morning and I told him he could have one after school- this kid's got a memory!

Later, Liam had a speech appointment- now that he's in school it's going to be a bit tougher to fit in all of his appointments.  Kayleigh was happy to go along to this one!

She's pretty much happy all the time unless she's hungry or no one's paying attention to her.

August 30 = Haircut Day

Liam starts school tomorrow so I decided to take all three kids to get Liam's haircut by myself!  But I'm getting ahead of myself- today started with some therapy appointments for Liam- we're taking advantage of the free valet parking- the older two actually sat on the bench while one of the valet guys got our car- it was a miracle!

Malia fell asleep on the way home...

But still took a nap- another miracle!

Later, since Liam starts school tomorrow, I decided to take him to get a haircut!

There's the before and here's the after:

August 29 = Rosie's Surgery Day

Zachary went to the Navy gym yesterday because on Sundays, there's no childcare at the Y.  The girls stayed at home with me but Liam rode along- they have a room where parents can exercise and the kids can play in a separate area.  This is what they did...

Here's a picture of my girls just to keep it even ;)

Rosie got fixed today.  The last thing in the world we need is puppies so... here's the result of that:

I have a feeling she's going to tolerate the cone really well.  Ha.

August 28 = Meet the Neighbors Day

Look at these two- so glad they have each other!

This is what it looks like when Liam gets nutella and is semi unsupervised:

Also- I'm just going to share this.  I didn't think it was funny but apparently it should be remembered and apparently it is funny.  This was the first time our neighbor has communicated with us...

August 26 = Flower in your Hair Day

Malia picked some more flowers today and shared with Kayleigh- look how cute!

The only thing I like taking pictures of more than baby feet would be sleeping babies... what do you mean Malia's not a baby anymore??

August 25 = Kayleigh Photo Shoot Day

Kayleigh got some new clothes today from her great aunt, Debby.  I wanted to get some pictures of her in her new outfit to send to Debby and it turned into a mini photo shoot!

Also, Zachary got a picture of me loving on my baby!

And then I got a picture of him loving on his baby...

And when we headed to bed I saw this precious little thing and I had to get a picture- I will never be accused of not taking enough pictures of my kids.

August 24 = PreK Orientation Day

Liam starts Pre-K in a week!  Today, we got to go see his classroom and meet his teacher.  We just found out what school he was going to a few days ago so I had filled out the registration paperwork but hadn't turned it in yet so he didn't have a folder and name tag.  Everyone else had a name tag and one of the kids wasn't there so he helped himself to one.  Meet Nathan.

After orientation I took the kids to the CDC- it's so good for them to be around other kids their age and we haven't met anyone here yet so the CDC is our best bet.  How cute are they?  They love each other so much!

August 23 = Malia's Checkup Day

Malia had her three year old well visit today... taking three kids to a doctor's office is so so fun ;) Everything thing looks good- she's developmentally on track and there were no shots to get so all in all, it was a good visit!

Joey enjoyed having a quiet day with all of us gone.

August 22 = Rosie Escapes Day

Oh my goodness, Rosie.  We have a door from our kitchen to the laundry room that is usually closed.  It wasn't closed today and Rosie took advantage of the situation.  She escaped and was not easy to recapture.  It took me over 30 minutes to get her back inside the house.

I found this shirt that was Malia's that Kayleigh can wear now!

August 21 = New Sign Day

I love this chalkboard!

August 17 = Spaghetti Day

I think Rosie feels comfortable being a part of our family...

Saw this today- took a screenshot and sent it to Zachary- he asked what color he was coming home to today.

And then I got this picture of this precious little thing- surely she'll never ask too many questions and she'll always listen right?!

For dinner we had spaghetti... as you can see, it was enjoyed by both Liam and Malia.

August 15 = Baby Mohawk Day

So I took a nap today.  I keep telling myself it's never worth it- the mess I have to clean up afterwards... but then I decide maybe I've been wrong every time before and it is worth it.  This is what I walked into post nap today... so you decide.

Here's a Kayleigh bath picture...

And a picture of her crazy hair post bath.  I laughed at Zachary for styling her hair that way but he promised he didn't do anything to her hair- that's just how it dried.

And then later I got a picture of Kayleigh's feet because baby feet are the best thing in the world.

August 14 = Malia (L) Comes to Visit Day

First- I just love how attentive Liam and Malia are towards Kayleigh- it's so precious.

But the most exciting thing that happened today was my friend, Malia Losordo, came to visit us today!  She lives in Oregon but was on the east coast for a wedding and was close enough to drive to come see us!

While we were chatting and catching up, Liam went upstairs.  You would think after the hair cut fiasco, I would be a little more vigilant but I did make sure the doors that could be locked were locked and I set him up on my bed watching TV.  He was quiet- too quiet- and when I went to get him after Malia and her new husband, Gordon, left, this is what I found:

Then I read this- and it reminded me so much of Malia:

And then before I could get too emotional about how sweet that was, I saw this, and that balanced me out :)

Later, Gordon sent me this picture I had asked him to take.  When they got to our house, the kids ran out to greet Malia and Gordon and Liam proceeded to run to the playground.  Gordon was so so good with him and chased after him so Malia and I leisurely walked along with little Malia as she picked flowers.  Her new flower picking habit reminded me of my friend Malia- they're both little nature babies and I love that so much about both of them- so when Gordon and Liam returned, I asked him to snap a picture of these two doing what they love.  Thankfully he remembered to send it!
