July 22 = Mommy/Son Day

Here's Liam waking Malia up.

We took Malia to the CDC today so that I could take Liam by himself to his OT appointment.  I got to read the whole time- it was amazing.  And after his appointment, we still had a bit of time before we needed to go pick up Malia so I took Liam to lunch at The Main Ingredient.  We had such a good time together.  He was being so funny and sweet!

My favorite part was when he was playing hide and seek behind the sugar packets.  Such a silly, sweet boy.

Later that afternoon, after we picked Malia up, we headed to Amy's house for a playdate.  Amy and Evie missed Malia's birthday party but got her a present anyway- a tea set!  Here's Malia in Amy's husband, Will's, shoes...

And here she is at home, playing with her tea set!

Also, I got this picture and it's now my background on my phone- she's too cute.

March 24 = Quiet Waters Park Day

We had a fun day today! Here's Malia right after she woke up, still holding on to her blanket and her Minnie.

After we got dressed and had breakfast, we headed to Quiet Waters Park.  I have no pictures because it took every bit of my concentration to keep an eye on two children who refused to play near each other.  I would have my eye on one, turn my head to find the other, look back and the first had moved.  We met with three other moms and their kids so I kept asking whoever was closest if they saw the one I was having a hard time locating.  When we left, I backed out of the spot and something sounded funny.  I backed up far enough and then put the van in drive and it still sounded funny.  So I got out and this is what I saw:

I saw that it had ripped off and was worthless but didn't want to damage anything by taking it off myself.  I called Zachary but he was unavailable.  I called my dad and sent him this picture and he asked if I had any duct tape to tape it up so it wouldn't drag.  I didn't.  So I called our roadside assistance but the only thing they could do was tow us somewhere to fix it which with two hungry, tired kids in the car was not appealing at all.  I was about to figure out how to rip it off by any means necessary when a man, his daughter, and his dad pulled up.  They recommended taking it off instead of getting it towed where someone else would take it off and asked if they could do it for me which I gratefully accepted.

We went home, got naps, and then we were off to another play date!  We met my friend Anne and her three kids!  Little Thomas is a few months old now and I got to hold him which made my day.  Zachary met us there for the last little bit and then we headed home.  Zachary got a charcoal grill so after dinner, we took a trip to Ace Hardware to get some charcoal and other stuff he needed and stopped by a Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins right after.  These kids love them some ice cream!

March 2 = Playdate Day

I took so few pictures today!  One of the two I'm going to share isn't even mine but it is funny:

Our friends, Amy and Evie, came over today. Evie had a dentist appointment close to our house so they ran by afterwards.  Amy and I tried to chat while the kids went up and down the stairs.  Otherwise, we had a pretty routine day but Liam didn't sleep very well last night and didn't get a nap today so he crashed hard.  I know this is hard to see but just trust me that he has a blanket over his head and his dead LeapPad beside him.  He was also snoring.  Sleeping kids are the best.

October 22 = Playground Playdate Day!

First I have to share this picture of my handsome husband- I've got to find a frame and somewhere to put it so I can see it regularly when he isn't home.  And where my kids won't destroy it.  Hmm...

I have been looking forward to today for a while- I mentioned before that I asked my friends to join us sometime and today was the day!  Amy & Evie, Jessica & Weston, and Andrea & Brayden all met us at this playground I have newly discovered.  We had lots of fun!

I think Liam's favorite part of today was walking on this raised, stone thing  on the side of the sidewalk- there were steps and he had so much walking so high and up steps.  I had picked him up from the CDC- I usually pick him up at 2:00 but Andrea lives really far away from the playground but was going to be picking up Brayden at 12 so I moved Liam's pickup time to 12 too because I was so excited about us all getting together.  Anyway- we walked from the CDC to the playground and then when the playdate was over, we walked back so he got to walk on this narrow walk way both ways and couldn't have been more thrilled.

I captured him cleaning up a mess he made.  He even threw the dirty paper towel away!

And I completed a project I've been thinking about for a few days.  I made this daily chart for Liam- there's one for morning and one for night time.  When he finishes each task, he gets to close the tab and when it's closed it says done.  I'm going to use this tomorrow morning and hopefully it's a hit!

August 13 = Help Mommy Day

Zachary had to go in early today to cover his chief who wanted to spend time with his family before they left for a week.  We had a playdate planned and for some reason I wasn't feeling well.  I thought about cancelling but when I don't feel well, I'd rather do something to distract myself than to sit around and do nothing so we went to the playdate and then I went to yoga.  In yoga, I nearly left class because I just felt so weird- I was achy and nauseous- it was so weird.  So when we got home, Liam made a big mess with dinner and so I asked him to help me clean it up and added "Mommy doesn't feel good."  Well he proceeded to clean other areas of the house too- such a sweetheart.

Then we had story/singing time in Liam's room and Malia climbed up on the bed all by herself!  She's so talented.

July 8 = Play Date Day

We had a play date today!  During the play date, I was very focused on talking to the two other moms that I didn't take any pictures but trust me, it was fun!  Rachel came with her two kids, Jacob who is four and Alli who just turned one and our new friend Jennifer came with her son, Zander, who is almost 6 months old.

After the play date, Miss Malia had fun with her push walker...

...and her bottle of milk.

Also, I have thought this whole time that my plant with yellow flowers was a zucchini plant but come to find out, they're cucumbers!

Also, in preparation for Miss Malia's first birthday party, we went to Jo-Ann's to find materials for various things and we found this pretty, lace elastic- so Grammy (who, by the way, may be formally changed to Mimi if Liam keeps calling her that) made it into a headband!
