July 12 = Kayleigh Goes to OT Day

Excuse the finger on the side- it was dark but I had to get this picture of Kayleigh nestled between Joey and Rosie- she is so loved!

Zachary has been taking Liam to his appointments but today, the whole gang went- here's Kayleigh at the OT office.

I love when she extends her arms when she's sleeping- something makes a noise and out those arms go!

Bath day!

May 18 = OT Meltdown Day

Things started just fine and dandy this morning...

And then we got to OT.  Every time we go to OT, Liam gets a muffin from the front of the office.  There's a basket in the same spot every single time we go with plenty of muffins.  If Malia is with us, he knows to get two and if Malia's not with us, he knows to get one (and usually sneaks another on the way out).  Well they didn't have muffins today.  Actual conversation from this discovery:

Liam: Where the muffins?
Me: I don't know buddy, they must have run out.
Liam: BAD MOMMYYYYYYY!!!!!

So I spent about 10 minutes calming him down and letting him know they might have them next time but today, they were all gone... blah blah blah... and then the therapist comes out, asks what's wrong, and takes him to the staff room and gets him a muffin.  Oh well.

But the day ended on a much better note...

April 26 = Donation Day

I got this video of Malia playing with cups... I love it when she says "ta-da."

We went to chick-fil-a after Liam's OT appointment... instead of actually playing in the kids area, Liam and Malia decided to just sit in Daddy's lap.

Zachary had watched Malia for me during Liam's OT appointment.  She loves hanging out with Daddy at work- Zachary is the O-rep for the Midshipmen Action Group and they're doing a donation drive this week.  He donated this cute little girl:

April 19 = Rough OT Day

So as I was getting the kids into the building for Liam's OT appointment, I noticed Liam was wearing his big brother shirt and Malia was wearing her big sister shirt.  This was not intentional but I thought it was cute!

Malia is starting to really question why Liam gets to go into the fun rooms for his appointments and she has to sit outside in the waiting room.  Today, she was distraught about it.  When Liam came out of his appointment, she snuck in and had her own fun.  She did not want to leave.  And this almost 8 months pregnant mama didn't have the easiest time persuading her otherwise.  I called Zachary on the way home and told him I'm never doing that again.  From now on, if I don't have help with Malia, I'm canceling his appointment.  

I was very excited that Zachary and I had a date night planned after the nightmare of OT.  We went to Chart House on the water in Annapolis- very pretty and very yummy!  I also snapped a picture of the baby bump because I'm starting to realize it won't be there for much longer...

February 8 = Holding Hands Day

January 19 = Haircut Day

It's so funny how both of our kids have unique things about them that remind us of either Zachary or Me.  Malia can be super serious or super silly which is the same as Zachary.  But she also likes to sleep, which is like me.

And she likes puzzles, also like me.

So some days I am fully aware of my limitations.  Today, I decided to throw caution to the wind.  I had just taken both kids to Liam's OT appointment which I try to avoid at all costs because it's an hour long appointment and while Malia is typically easy to entertain, for some reason, in medical or therapy offices, she is not.  But they had that new puzzle today and so OT wasn't too stressful so I had the bright idea of taking Liam to get a haircut.  Getting Liam a haircut is no walk in the park.  But he needed one and I figured no matter how bad it is, we will survive.

Also, here's another belly shot!  Zachary made me laugh while I was taking the picture- I'm not a selfie girl but this is the last pregnancy so I want to document this growing belly one more time.

October 12 = Busy Day

I'm writing this post a month and a half after and looking at it- what a busy day!

First, Liam grabbed this off the counter and helped himself.  Candy corn and honey roasted peanuts.  Delicious.

Then here's Malia and her creative way of reaching the piano:

I had to take Malia with us to Liam's OT appointment- which I don't make a habit of doing because she's not a fan of being in doctors' offices but she did really well today.

Also as I made dinner tonight, the kids were quietly playing downstairs.  Here's what I found when I went down to get them :)

September 28 = Fall Asleep in the Car Day

Liam had OT today so when I picked him from the bus, we took Malia to Zachary at the academy and then went to his appointment.  I read the whole time, it was glorious.  We went to pick Malia up and on the way home, Liam did this:

When we got home, I got him out of his seat very carefully and brought him inside.  I laid him down in the floor so I could go get Malia from the car, assuming he'd get up and be ready to party but he stayed asleep right there on the floor.  I wasn't confident that I could carry him up to the 3rd floor so I woke him up and he went to his room and went right back to sleep.  Score.

September 21 = Meltdown Day

So our default plan for Wednesdays is I take Malia to Zachary after picking Liam up from the bus and then Liam and I head to his OT appointment.  I don't enjoy taking Malia with us to OT appointments because... this:

I sent him this video and said next time you have to cancel on your Malia date, we're paying the $25 cancellation fee.

July 22 = Mommy/Son Day

Here's Liam waking Malia up.

We took Malia to the CDC today so that I could take Liam by himself to his OT appointment.  I got to read the whole time- it was amazing.  And after his appointment, we still had a bit of time before we needed to go pick up Malia so I took Liam to lunch at The Main Ingredient.  We had such a good time together.  He was being so funny and sweet!

My favorite part was when he was playing hide and seek behind the sugar packets.  Such a silly, sweet boy.

Later that afternoon, after we picked Malia up, we headed to Amy's house for a playdate.  Amy and Evie missed Malia's birthday party but got her a present anyway- a tea set!  Here's Malia in Amy's husband, Will's, shoes...

September 2 = Ms. Shaina's Last Day

Liam had a busy day of appointments today.  First we headed to OT and PT.  Here's Malia having fun in the pediatric waiting room.

And then we rushed home to see Miss Shaina- she has been such a help to me.  She's a cognitive development specialist so while she would spend time working with Liam a lot of times I would just ask her a lot of questions and get her very informed opinion on everything from potty training to timeouts to the use of technology.  We will miss her sweet heart and her expertise so much!

July 23 = Fun at Therapy Day

Zachary's working nights this week so one advantage of that is he gets to go to Liam's appointments with us.  I took some pictures of Zachary playing with Malia during the appointment- I got to read a little of my paper during the appointment- score for me!
